The Great Escape

After a crazy year and a half, we took some time off & ventured into the wild. Yay!
To be honest, I wasn't that thrilled initially when I found out that we were going to Botswana, but it ended up being one of the best trips I've ever been on.

Quick disclaimer: I recently found out that I need to work on my landscape photography skills & that I pull some pretty strange faces on photos...

What I've been up to lately

I've been looking forward to writing this post for some time now *yay*

The last couple of weeks (infact, starting beginning of April), has been crazy and happy and such a rush. With all the long weekends, we went away every. single. weekend. and took off some extra days because what then else is the point of being your own boss?! ;)

You've got to start somewhere

For the last couple of days (yes, DAYS), my husband and I have gradually been sorting out our second spare bedroom. This may sound like a small feat, but I assure you it's anything but. Since we moved into our house about three years ago, the spare room has become like that one drawer you have in the kitchen that everything goes into, but bigger. It's a bit of a black hole really, and once an item has found it's way into our spare room, it's rarely seen the light of day again.
On the occasions where we have had extra guests over & needed the room, everything was simply thrown into boxes & hidden in our bedroom for the weekend, only to be returned to THE ROOM once our guests returned home. We're pretty organised like that.

This past weekend I finally had enough of the chaos & commandeered my husband to help me sort out the room, as most of the items in there belong to him. Amongst the boxes, Christmas decorations, Elvis glasses, hula-skirts, books, old study material, broken appliances and expired gym supplements, I came across my first & second year varsity portfolio...

Real wedding

I got to do some amazing wedding stationery for Thilana & Gradus' wedding last year & to this day it is one of my favorite sets. We used Fynbos and Suikerbossies which are indigenous to the West Coast as inspiration, and the coral-mint color scheme suited the theme perfectly. So excited to share these pretty photo's from their wedding with you.
